We are opening an exciting premium padel club in the heart of Telford. Our world-class facility features 5 double and 1 single padel courts, a contemporary café and a fully stocked pro-shop. We’re passionate about bringing this fast-growing sport to the local community and creating a welcoming, professional environment for players of all abilities.
We are seeking enthusiastic and customer-focused individuals to join our team as Front of House Team Hosts. You’ll be the first point of contact for our members and visitors, ensuring they receive exceptional service while supporting the smooth operation of our club facilities. This multifaceted role combines front-of-house reception duties with café operations in a dynamic, sports-focused environment.
As a keyholder, you’ll carry the important responsibility of opening and closing the club, ensuring our facility is secure and ready for operation each day.
We’re looking for candidates who can work a mix of shifts including some weekends and evenings. Specific scheduling will be discussed during the interview process based on availability and business needs.
Key Responsibilities
1. Reception & Customer Service
- Welcome members and visitors with a warm, professional greeting that reflects our premium club standards
- Manage equipment hire (racquets, balls, etc.) and retail sales from the pro-shop
- Answer phone calls and handle enquiries promptly and professionally
- Provide information about club facilities, services, the recovery suite and padel rules
- Resolve customer queries and complaints in a friendly, efficient manner
2. Café & Bar Operations
- Prepare and serve high-quality coffee, smoothies and beverages to our members and guests
- Maintain food safety and hygiene standards at all times
- Keep the café area and equipment clean, organised and presentable
- Monitor and replenish stock levels, escalating shortfalls to management
- Handle café orders and payments efficiently
3. Opening & Closing Duties (Keyholder)
- Open the club at scheduled times, following all opening procedures
- Conduct opening checks to ensure the facility is safe and ready for members
- Close the club securely at end of day, completing all closing procedures
- Perform security checks and ensure all areas are locked
- Respond to any security or emergency situations responsibly
4. General Support
- Maintain the reception area and ensure it is always presentable
- Keep changing rooms, courts and public areas clean and tidy
- Support with basic facility maintenance and daily safety checks
- Assist with event setup, tournament organisation and community events
- Help promote club services, events and membership benefits
- Work collaboratively with team members and management
- Follow all club policies and procedures at all times
Essential Requirements
- Previous customer service experience
- Experience in hospitality, retail or a leisure environment preferred
- Barista experience or a genuine willingness to learn coffee preparation
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, customer-facing environment
- Reliability and punctuality with a flexible approach to shifts
- Trustworthy and responsible character – essential for keyholder duties
- Basic computer skills for booking systems and POS operation
Desirable Requirements
- Experience with sports facilities or club environments
- Knowledge of padel or racquet sports (full training provided)
- Retail or pro-shop experience
- Social media awareness for promoting events and offers
- Previous keyholder or supervisory experience
