The role
The successful person will:
Provide one-to-one support with music and DJ-related activities for a 26 year old women.
Attend DJ lessons with the individual and provide additional support with practising skills.
Reinforce learning through practical repetition and encouragement AFTER the lesson.
Support the development of DJ skills, confidence and independence.
Assist with music preparation and related activities.
Encourage the individual to develop their own skills rather than taking over.
Help with the practical development of a new creative music project.
Support the creation and preparation of digital music content.
Work at the individual's pace and adapt support to their learning needs.
Essential requirements
You must have both:
Proven DJ skills
You must be able to provide evidence of practical DJ experience. This could include a DJ profile, recordings, mixes, portfolio, social media account or other suitable evidence.
SEN / learning-support experience
You must have experience supporting people with SEN, learning difficulties or additional support needs.
We are particularly interested in someone who can demonstrate patience, good communication and the ability to break practical skills down into manageable steps.
We would particularly like someone who:
Is fun, approachable and positive, with a natural enthusiasm for music.
Can make practice enjoyable while remaining patient and supportive.
Has a good sense of humour and can build a positive one-to-one relationship.
Encourages confidence without taking over.
Has practical experience using DJ equipment and/or DJ software.
Has worked one-to-one with people with learning difficulties or SEN.
Understands the importance of repetition and reinforcing learning.
Is confident supporting someone to develop greater independence.
Has an interest in music and creative projects.
Has experience or an interest in social media, YouTube, podcasts or other digital content.
Can help create simple, engaging promotional content.
Is reliable and able to commit to regular sessions.

Please note: candidates who cannot demonstrate both DJ experience and relevant SEN/support experience will not be shortlisted.
Pay: £16.00 per hour
