Sales & Office Administrator — Grant's Electrical Solutions
Newton Abbot · Office-based · Paid, full-time
Job Overview
We're a growing electrical contractor covering Devon, Cornwall and Somerset, and we're looking for an organised, confident Sales & Office Administrator to be the engine room of the business. This is the person who turns enquiries into booked work and keeps the diary running — fielding incoming leads, quoting and following up, and scheduling our electricians and vans so every job lands on the right day with the right person. You'll be the first voice customers hear and the one keeping the whole operation moving behind the scenes. Ideal for someone who's naturally organised, good with people on the phone, and enjoys owning a role rather than waiting to be told what to do.
What you'll be doing
- Handle all incoming enquiries — phone, email, website and ad leads — and respond quickly to win the work
- Convert enquiries into booked jobs: prepare and send quotes, follow them up, and close them
- Schedule and coordinate the electricians' diary — allocating jobs, planning routes, and keeping vans busy and on time
- Be the main point of contact for customers, keeping them updated from first call to job completion
- Book in surveys, callouts and return visits, and manage any rescheduling
- Keep job records, quotes, and customer details accurate and up to date
- Chase outstanding quotes and, where needed, follow up on invoices and payments
- Request and chase Google reviews from happy customers
- Liaise daily with the on-site team to keep jobs flowing and flag any issues early
- Keep the office running smoothly — general admin, filing, and supporting the owner as the business grows
What we're looking for
- A confident, professional phone manner and genuinely good with customers
- Strong sales instinct — comfortable quoting, following up, and asking for the job
- Excellent organisation and the ability to juggle a busy diary without dropping the ball
- Calm under pressure and able to prioritise when the phone's ringing and jobs are stacking up
- Good written communication for quotes, emails and customer updates
- Confident with computers, email and scheduling/CRM tools (or quick to learn)
- Proactive and self-managing — happy to take ownership of the role
- Experience in a trades, construction, or service-business office is a big plus, but the right attitude matters more
This is a key role with real responsibility and room to grow as the company expands. If you like being at the centre of things and take pride in a well-run operation, we'd love to hear from you.
