Your new role:
We are looking for a reliable and detail‑focused Distribution & Packing Operative to join our warehouse team on a brand-new part‑time evening shift. This is a varied, hands-on role combining distribution of picked goods with final inspection and packing to ensure customer orders are dispatched accurately, safely, and on time.
In this dual-role position, you will support both the distribution and packing stages of our operation. You’ll be responsible for distributing picked goods to the correct assembly points, carrying out inspections against packing lists and special instructions, and completing the secure packing of finished consignments ready for despatch.
You’ll play a vital part in ensuring product accuracy, quality, and compliance, while working to tight timescales in a fast-paced warehouse environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Distribution Duties
- Distribute picked goods to the correct locations in line with picking and product labels
- Inspect picked goods in accordance with packing lists and any special inspection instructions
- Break down pack unit quantities to meet individual order requirements where necessary
- Identify and report any discrepancies or product non‑conformances, completing the required paperwork
- Operate conveyor systems safely and correctly as instructed
- Maintain awareness of restricted areas, machinery, and equipment
- Ensure your work area, equipment, and surrounding areas are kept clean and tidy
Packing Duties
- Carry out final inspections of distributed orders to ensure full conformance to customer requirements
- Follow special packing or customer-specific instructions where required
- Securely pack inspected orders to prevent damage or loss during transit
- Clearly identify packed consignments with the correct packing list information for despatch teams
- Take responsibility for workstation equipment and general housekeeping duties
What you’ll need to succeed:
- Previous warehouse experience (distribution, packing, or similar roles)
- Good communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team
- A methodical approach with a strong eye for detail
- Ability to work accurately under time pressure
- Adaptability to changing priorities and workloads
- Working knowledge of warehouse systems (e.g. SAP) is desirable
- Strong awareness of health & safety practices

This is a part-time, temporary to permanent position. Core hours of work are 4:00pm to 8:00pm, Monday to Friday.
