An excellent opportunity has arisen for Business Development Manager to join our Property Services team based in the Midlands region.
The successful candidate will play a key role in driving business growth across the region by developing strong, long-term relationships and identifying new opportunities for Seddon. Working with public and private sector clients, consultants and strategic partners, you will build and maintain a robust and sustainable pipeline of work.
You will also contribute to the wider business plan, share market insight and best practice across the company, and help strengthen Seddon’s position and reputation across the Midlands property services market.

What you’ll do:
- Drive business development across the Midlands by proactively identifying new opportunities and building a strong, sustainable pipeline of work for Seddon.
- Build and nurture strategic relationships with public and private sector clients, consultants, supply chain and delivery partners, acting as a key point of contact for customers across the region.
- Develop market and framework intelligence, maintaining up-to-date knowledge of live and forthcoming regional frameworks and identifying the routes, sectors and geographies that best align with Seddon’s growth strategy e.g. Pagabo, NWCH, CWM, CWAS, SCAPE, DWP) and identify which routes and geographies best fit Seddon's Midlands pipeline.
- Support bids and tenders by providing market, customer and relationship intelligence, coordinating B2B engagement, and supporting development bids and tender submissions.
- Strengthen customer engagement by maintaining relationship maps, coordinating customer surveys and references, organising site visits, and supporting client engagement ahead of direct awards and call-off decisions.
- Monitor the competitive landscape by maintaining competitor analysis, including framework positions, market capability and positioning, and sharing relevant intelligence with the wider business.
- Provide insight and reporting through regular business development activity reports and market sector analysis, helping inform wider business strategies and identify future growth opportunities.
- Support Seddon’s wider growth and reputation by maintaining accurate CRM records (Microsoft Dynamics), contributing to marketing materials and case studies, and supporting the evidencing of social value commitments (e.g. TOMs, named delivery partners) through relationships with local delivery partners.

- Sound working knowledge of the Procurement Act 2023 and the framework/direct-award routes to market relevant to the Midlands
- Ability to use MS Office products, with working knowledge of a CRM system (Microsoft Dynamics preferred)
- Experience of working within a similar Business Development Management role within a similar organisation is highly desirable
- Experience evidencing social value using recognised methodologies (e.g. TOMs) is desirable
- Experienced in people management (essential)
- Experience working within the relevant sector (essential)
