Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and compassionate Activities Co-Ordinator to join our dedicated team at a vibrant residential care home. In this vital role, you will design, organize, and lead engaging activities that enhance the quality of life for our residents. Your enthusiasm and creativity will foster a lively, inclusive environment where residents feel valued, motivated, and connected. Duties
- Develop and implement diverse activity programs tailored to residents’ interests, abilities, and care needs, including those with dementia or Alzheimer’s disease
- Lead engaging group activities such as arts and crafts, music sessions, reminiscence therapy, games, and outings that stimulate mental and physical activity
- Foster a warm, welcoming atmosphere that encourages participation and socialization among residents
- Collaborate closely with care staff to assess individual resident needs and preferences for personalized activity planning
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of activities, making adjustments to maximize engagement and enjoyment
- Maintain accurate records of activities provided, resident participation, and feedback to support care planning
- Promote a positive environment that enhances residents’ emotional well-being through compassionate communication and encouragement
Qualifications
- Proven experience in assisted living settings or nursing homes with a focus on senior care or dementia care
- Strong understanding of Alzheimer’s care principles and best practices in senior engagement
- Excellent communication skills to connect effectively with residents, families, and team members
- Prior experience coordinating activities within a care home environment is highly desirable
- Knowledge of caregiving techniques tailored to individuals with cognitive impairments such as dementia or Alzheimer’s disease
- Ability to plan creatively while adhering to safety protocols and care standards
- Compassionate attitude with a genuine passion for enriching the lives of older adults
