At Taste Original we are seeking dedicated and reliable multiskilled Factory Operatives to join our day shift team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. As a Factory Operative, you will play a crucial role in the production process, ensuring that products meet quality standards and are produced efficiently. This position requires attention to detail, adherence to safety protocols, and the ability to work collaboratively within a team.
We are looking for operatives to fill the below vacancies.
Meat Preparation Operative
- Receive meat deliveries from external suppliers and complete all relevant paperwork and delivery documentation.
- Use the SAGE system to record goods received, create lot numbers, barcodes, and maintain stock accuracy.
- Adhere to FIFO (First In, First Out) stock rotation procedures, ensuring older stock is used before newly received stock.
- Review production plans and prepare the required quantities of meat for thawing, including loading trays and operating thawing equipment.
- Inspect defrosted meat for foreign bodies before processing to ensure product safety and quality.
- Operate mincing equipment in accordance with production plans and recipe specifications.
- Batch, weigh, and transfer minced meat into tote bins ready for mixing.
- Operate Uni Mix and bowl chop machines, adding ingredients in line with recipe requirements.
- Push tote bins between chillers, processing equipment, and marination areas as required. (Up to 200kg)
Frying Room Operative
- Operate fryers and stick inserters, ensuring equipment runs efficiently and safely.
- Complete production paperwork, including temperature, quality and weight checks.
- Operate sausage production machinery, ensuring smooth operation and replenishing skins as required.
- Monitor product quality on the production line, ensuring products meet specification in terms of size, shape, and appearance.
- Report issues to machine operators and remove non-conforming product from the line.
- Use the SAGE system to scan ingredients, mixes, and stock, maintaining stock control and traceability.
Impingement Operative
- Transfer frozen products into trays, dolavs, or bags.
- Complete paperwork relating to temperatures, weights, and specification checks.
High Risk Floor Operative
- Allocate stock to freezers, chillers, or transfer locations.
- Manage and supply stock of products, trays, and sauces in line with production plans to ensure efficiency.
- Communicate effectively with management and operational teams to ensure priorities are achieved.
- Complete temperature monitoring records.
- Ensure stock rotation procedures (FIFO) are consistently followed.
High Risk Line Operative
- Lead the production line, coordinating people, machinery, and materials.
- Ensure production plans are achieved.
- Set up and adjust machinery to maximise performance and efficiency.
- Maintain awareness of allergen and species controls and coordinate washdowns where required.
- Work closely with adjacent production lines and Low Risk teams to ensure smooth operations.
High Risk Paperwork Operative
- Complete documentation relating to temperatures, weights, gas readings, and specification checks.
- Verify that correct materials are used during production by doing various checks and completing paperwork to reflect this.
- Maintain awareness of allergen and species controls and request washdowns where required.
- Work collaboratively with other High-Risk colleagues and also Low Risk teams to ensure efficient operations. By supplying colleagues with product information to carry out their own checks.
Low Risk Paperwork Operative
- Complete documentation relating to temperatures, weights, metal detection, and specification checks.
- Carry out periodic test-pack checks to verify metal detection and weight-control systems are functioning correctly.
- Ensure correct materials are used during production.
- Work closely with High-Risk teams to maintain efficient operations.
Low Risk Machine Operative
- Lead the production line, managing people, machinery, and materials.
- Ensure production plans are achieved.
- Set up and adjust machinery for optimal performance.
- Maintain awareness of allergen and species controls and coordinate washdowns where required.
- Work closely with surrounding production teams to ensure efficient operations.
Low Risk Floor Operative
- Allocate stock to freezers, chillers, or transfer locations.
- Manage and supply stock of products, trays, and sauces in line with production plans to ensure efficiency.
- Communicate effectively with management and operational teams to ensure priorities are achieved.
- Complete temperature monitoring records.
- Ensure stock rotation procedures (FIFO) are consistently followed.
All roles require a good level of English
Pay: £12.71-£15.01 per hour
