Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated PM Warehouse Operative to join our team working 20 hours per week Monday - Friday 3pm - 7pm. This role involves supporting warehouse operations during the evening shift, ensuring efficient handling of materials, and maintaining safety standards. The successful candidate will play a vital part in the smooth running of our warehouse, contributing to shipping, receiving, and inventory management activities. Previous warehouse experience and mechanical knowledge are advantageous, along with the ability to operate forklifts and utilise warehouse management systems. This position offers an opportunity to develop skills within a dynamic logistics environment.
Responsibilities
- Load and unload goods safely using appropriate equipment such as forklifts and manual handling techniques
- Assist with shipping and receiving processes, ensuring accurate documentation and inventory control
- Operate warehouse management system to track stock movements and update records accurately
- Handle materials efficiently, ensuring proper storage and organisation within the warehouse
- Conduct mechanical checks on equipment and report any faults or maintenance needs
- Maintain a clean and organised work environment, adhering to health and safety regulations
- Collaborate with team members to meet daily operational targets and deadlines
Requirements
- Prior experience in warehouse operations or logistics is preferred
- Valid forklift licence or willingness to undertake training
- Knowledge of warehouse management systems is desirable
- Physical ability to perform heavy lifting and manual handling tasks safely
- Mechanical aptitude or basic understanding of construction tools is advantageous
- Experience in materials handling, shipping & receiving, or related fields will be beneficial
- Strong organisational skills with attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team during evening shifts
