Are you looking for a hands-on role within a busy food production environment? We're recruiting for a Production Operative – Mixing Department to join a well-established food manufacturer in Newry.
This is an excellent opportunity to become part of a fast-paced production team, where you'll play an important role in the mixing and preparation of products while ensuring quality and consistency throughout the manufacturing process. Full training is provided, making this an ideal opportunity for someone looking to build a career within food manufacturing.
The Role
Working alongside the Production and Technical teams, you'll be responsible for:
- Operating within the mixing and mincing area, ensuring recipes are followed accurately to maintain product quality and consistency.
- Building and dismantling production machinery in line with company procedures.
- Completing and recording food safety checks, including pre and post-production inspections, temperature checks and traceability records.
- Completing production documentation and uploading information to the company communication system.
- Supporting product changeovers in accordance with company procedures.
- Working closely with colleagues to ensure production runs efficiently with minimal downtime.
- Carrying out any other duties as required by the management team.
Working Hours
Typical working hours are Monday to Thursday, 6:00am/7:00am – 5:00pm/6:00pm, with start times depending on the production area you're working in.
During busy periods, occasional Friday work may be required. Any additional Friday shifts will be communicated via the rota at least one week in advance.
Essential Criteria
- Good written and spoken English.
- A positive attitude with a willingness to learn.
- Excellent attention to detail and the ability to follow processes accurately.
- Good organisational and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced production environment.
- Flexible, reliable and able to work well as part of a team.
Desirable
- Previous experience within food production, manufacturing or a factory environment is advantageous but not essential, as full training will be provided.
