Quantity Surveyor – Central London, M&E Background

Dalkia Engineering is looking for a Quantity Surveyor with a strong Mechanical & Electrical background to join our Commercial team, working across our Central London project portfolio.
This is a great opportunity to join an established team delivering commercial support across a range of complex, live environments — ideal for a QS looking to build a career on high-profile, technically demanding projects in the capital, with genuine opportunities to progress within a growing business.
What you'll be doing:
- Managing the commercial delivery of MEP works across allocated projects, including procurement, cost reporting, and contract administration
- Measuring and valuing works (on site and from drawings) for valuations, variations, and final accounts
- Preparing Applications for Payment and Payment Notices in line with contract requirements
- Managing change, including variations and their commercial impact
- Managing subcontract accounts, from procurement through to final account
- Preparing Cost Value Reconciliations, cost-to-complete forecasts, and commercial risk registers
- Managing cash flow, turnover forecasts, and cash management activities
- Preparing internal valuations/CVRs and subcontract liability reports to schedule
- Preparing and negotiating subcontractor and supplier accounts
- Ensuring compliance with contract terms (NEC or JCT) and internal governance
- Building strong working relationships with clients, supply chain partners, and internal stakeholders
What we're looking for:
- Good experience in commercial management and procurement of subcontractors
- M&E subcontracting background essential for this role
- Solid knowledge of monthly reporting and cost control
- Working knowledge of JCT and NEC Conditions of Contract
- A good team player who can also work independently and to tight deadlines
- Strong negotiation, analytical, and communication skills
- Experience across a range of Tier 2 MEP services, including heritage and healthcare sectors, is advantageous
Qualifications:
- HNC/HND, Degree, or equivalent industry experience
- Previous experience on heritage & healthcare projects desirable
- CSCS card (relevant category)
