Role Purpose
To carry out and maintain the company’s everyday accounts requirements, including processing of completed orders, supplier invoices and payments, monthly customer statements, customer payments, debt management, VAT, payroll data and monthly management reports. The successful candidate will also work alongside our retail and public house managers to ensure seamless financial management across all departments within the company.
Duties and Responsibilities
· Accurate recording of all financial transactions for the brewery, plus the company’s shop and two pubs
· Handling accounts payable and receivable
· Completion of daily trade sales through Xero
· Preparing and sending monthly statements
· Processing of supplier invoices
· Dealing with incoming supplier queries
· Processing and allocating customer payments
· Ensuring regular bank reconciliation is carried out
· Proactive debt management, ensuring outstanding debts are chased promptly
· Liaising with sales when creating new customer accounts
· Performing credit checks on new customers where necessary
· Regular preparation of statutory returns, such as VAT and Machine Games Duty
· Preparing weekly supplier payment lists
· Preparing monthly turnover and profit & loss reports for the company
· Collating the monthly time and attendance data for payroll
· Liasing with sales on any product returns and processing the relevant paperwork
· Collating data for the annual accounts, including the annual stock-take
· Manage supplier and customer relationships
Essential qualifications, skills and experience:
· Minimum Maths and English GCSE or equivalent
· Good numeracy and analytical skills
· Previous experience in a similar finance administration role (2 years + ideal)
· Experience using Microsoft Excel and Xero (or similar) accounting software
· Attention to detail and ability to achieve consistently high levels of accuracy
· Well organised, with good time management skills and the ability to multi-task
· A strong, confident communicator, happy assisting departmental managers as well as dealing with customers to achieve timely payment of debts
· The right to live and work in the UK
Pay: £15.77-£16.41 per hour
