We're looking for a Waking Night Support Worker to join our team in Maidenhead / Slough.
This is more than a night shift. It's an opportunity to be a consistent and trusted presence during some of the most important hours of the day, helping young people feel safe, responding when support is needed and ensuring the home remains calm and secure.

The Role
As a Waking Night Support Worker, you'll be responsible for helping maintain a safe, calm and secure environment throughout the night.
You'll monitor the wellbeing of the young people in our care, provide reassurance when needed and respond professionally to any situations that arise.
You'll also play an important role in maintaining continuity between the night and day teams, ensuring colleagues have the information they need to provide consistent care.
What You'll Be Doing
Your responsibilities will include:
- Monitoring the safety, welfare and wellbeing of young people throughout the night
- Completing regular welfare checks and maintaining accurate records
- Responding calmly and professionally to incidents or emergencies
- Following individual care plans, risk assessments and established routines
- Providing emotional support and reassurance when needed
- Maintaining a safe, clean and secure home environment
- Completing overnight records and thorough handovers
- Working in line with safeguarding procedures, company policies and Ofsted standards
- Supporting a consistent and high standard of care throughout every shift
About You
For this role, we're looking for someone who is calm when things aren't calm.
You'll ideally have:
- Experience working with children or young people, particularly within residential childcare or supporting those with emotional and behavioural difficulties
- A Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare or equivalent qualification is preferred
- A calm, professional and dependable approach
- The ability to work independently while remaining alert, proactive and responsive
- Strong communication, observation and record-keeping skills
- A genuine passion for helping children achieve positive outcomes
- A full UK driving licence is desirable
Experience is valuable, but so are the right values, attitude and commitment to supporting young people.
