Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and adaptable Security Engineer to join our dynamic team, specializing in service, maintenance, and small works. The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical background in various security systems, with the proven ability to fault-find, repair, and upgrade existing infrastructure. This role offers an exciting opportunity to act as the face of our company, working autonomously across various sites to ensure the ongoing safety, reliability, and integrity of our clients' security assets. Responsibilities
- Preventative & Reactive Maintenance: Perform planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and respond to reactive service call-outs for CCTV, intruder alarms, and access control systems.
- Small Works Execution: Carry out small-scale installations, system upgrades, and equipment additions (small works) efficiently and to a high standard.
- Fault Finding & Diagnostics: Conduct rigorous system testing, troubleshooting, and fault finding using hand tools, diagnostic equipment, and schematics to resolve issues quickly.
- System Analysis: Review system logs to identify hardware faults or connectivity issues.
- Customer Support: Provide on-site or remote technical support and guidance to clients, explaining faults and solutions clearly and professionally.
- Reporting: Complete accurate and timely service reports, maintenance logs, and documentation for all site visits and small works projects.
Experience
- Specialized Background: Proven field experience specifically focused on the service, maintenance, and repair of CCTV systems, IDS (Intrusion Detection Systems), and Access Control.
- Installation & Small Works: Hands-on experience executing small works projects, from minor system modifications to commissioning small installations.
- Technical Proficiency: Strong mechanical and electrical fault-finding skills, with a deep understanding of power supplies, telecommunication cabling, and electrical systems.
- Networking Knowledge: Solid foundation in computer networking and IP-based security systems.
- Schematic Literacy: Familiarity with reading and interpreting schematics, site plans, and technical drawings to locate faults or plan minor works.
- Tool Competency: Competence and safety awareness in using hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic meters for repairs.
- Customer Facing: Excellent communication skills with a track record of independent, client-facing field service work.
This position is paid in accordance with organisational policies. Candidates are expected to demonstrate a strong technical foundation combined with practical skills in security engineering.
Pay: £28,000.00-£40,000.00 per year
