We pride ourselves on delivering clear, practical legal advice with a personal touch. As our firm continues to grow, we’re expanding our Family Law Department and are looking for committed and capable solicitors to join our team.
The Role
We are seeking an experienced solicitor specialising in Public Law (Care) to join our team in a full-time role, with the opportunity to play a key part in developing and growing the department; the role will involve handling all aspects of Care work, including attending Case Protection Conferences, PLO meetings, and conducting Court Advocacy.
The successful candidate will have a minimum of 3 years’ post-qualification experience (PQE) in Public Law (Care) and hold Children Panel Accreditation, and will be responsible for managing a varied caseload of public law children matters, providing high-quality client care, and handling cases from initial instruction through to conclusion, including undertaking advocacy where appropriate, with the support of a dedicated paralegal.
Key Responsibilities
- Handling a caseload of care matters (public law)
- Advising clients on funding options and assessing financial eligibility
- Instructing and liaising with counsel, experts, and third parties
- Representing clients in court and conducting advocacy when required
- Delivering compassionate and clear advice to often vulnerable clients
- Ensuring compliance with Lexcel and SRA standards
What We’re Looking For
- Minimum 3 year PQE
- Excellent communication and client care skills
- Comfortable working independently and using initiative
- Experience working with sensitive or vulnerable clients
- Strong time management and case management skills
