Overview
We are seeking a skilled CNC Miller to join our small friendly engineering machine shop. The successful candidate will be responsible for taking a drawing and a piece of material, setting up, programming, and operating Fanuc or Heidenhain CNC machines to produce precision components.
We are a machine shop that produce 1 off components to small batch work from parts you can hold in your hand upto 1 tonne in weight. We work in a variety of materials from carbon steels, aluminiums, plastics, stainless and anything else that comes along.
£17.00 - £20.00 per hour depending on experience.
Hours: Mon-Thurs 08:00-16:30 Fridays 08:00-15:00
Duties
- Operate CNC milling and grinding machines with precision, ensuring adherence to technical drawings and specifications.
- Interpret technical drawings
- Set up tooling and fixtures, ensuring proper alignment and calibration for each job.
- Perform routine maintenance and inspections on CNC equipment to maintain optimal performance.
- Conduct basic maths calculations for measurements, tolerances, and material handling.
- Maintain a clean and organised work environment, adhering to health and safety standards.
Experience
- Proven experience in operating CNC milling machines, with a focus on precision machining.
- Ability to read technical drawings accurately and perform basic mathematical calculations related to machining tasks. Candidates should demonstrate a proactive approach to safety, quality standards, and continuous improvement within a collaborative team environment.
Pay: £17.00-£20.00 per hour
