Part-Time Yard Assistant – Brentwood Yard
DSM Contract Lifting Services are looking for a reliable and practical Part-Time Yard Assistant to join our team at our Brentwood yard.
This is a hands-on role helping to keep a busy crane, HIAB and lifting equipment yard clean, organised and running properly. It would suit someone dependable, physically fit, and happy working outdoors. You do not need to be a crane operator or engineer, but a practical attitude and an eye for keeping things tidy and safe is important.
Hours
Monday to Friday8:00am – 1:00pm 25 hours per week
Some Saturday mornings may also be required.
Pay
£13.00 per hour
Duties Will Include
- Keeping the yard clean, tidy and well organised
- Helping prepare equipment for jobs and returns
- Washing and cleaning plant, vehicles and equipment where required
- Assisting with deliveries and collections
- Helping organise lifting tackle, barriers, mats, equipment and general yard items
- Carrying out general housekeeping around the yard and storage areas
- Reporting any damage, defects or safety concerns to the yard manager
- Supporting the yard manager and team with day-to-day tasks
- Following company health and safety procedures at all times
The Ideal Candidate
We are looking for someone who is:
- Reliable, punctual and willing to work
- Physically capable and comfortable with practical outdoor work
- Sensible around vehicles, plant and heavy equipment
- Able to follow instructions and work safely
- Organised and tidy in their approach
- Happy working as part of a small team
- Flexible enough to work some Saturday mornings when needed
Previous experience in a yard, construction, plant, transport, warehouse, trade counter or similar environment would be useful, but it is not essential. The right attitude is more important.
Important
This role is based in an active crane and lifting equipment yard, so safety and common sense are essential. Full instruction will be given for the tasks required.
