The Role
As a Multi‑Trade Operative, you will carry out a wide range of day‑to‑day responsive and planned maintenance works within occupied social housing properties. You will work independently and as part of a wider team, completing repairs safely, efficiently, and to a high standard.
You will be customer‑facing, so professionalism, reliability, and respect for residents’ homes are essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out responsive and planned maintenance works within social housing properties
- Undertake a variety of trades, including (but not limited to):
- Carpentry
- Plumbing (basic)
- Plastering (patch repairs)
- Tiling
- Flooring repairs
- Painting & decorating
- Diagnose faults and complete repairs efficiently
- Ensure all works are completed to a high standard and completed on first visit where possible
- Work in occupied properties, maintaining a polite and professional manner at all times
- Adhere to health & safety regulations and company procedures
- Accurately complete job records and communicate updates to the office team
What We’re Looking For
Proven experience as a Multi‑Trade Operative, ideally within social housing
Strong skills across multiple trades
Ability to work independently and manage your own workload
Good problem‑solving skills and attention to detail
Professional and customer‑focused approach
Full UK driving licence
Experience & Qualifications
- Previous experience working in social housing or tenant‑occupied properties is highly desirable
- Trade qualifications or time‑served experience beneficial
- Knowledge of responsive repairs and voids work advantageous
