Job Overview
We are seeking a professional and reliable HGV Tanker Driver to join our expanding team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe and efficient collection and transportation of sewage waste water across various routes. This role requires a strong commitment to safety, excellent driving skills, and the ability to handle specialised tanker vehicles. Responsibilities
- Key responsibilities:
- To drive Category C/C+E vehicle safely, legally and efficiently as required.
- To comply with all drivers’ hours and Road Transport Directive legislation.
- To load and unload vehicle and maintain safety and security of load at all times.
- To carry out all necessary checks to ensure vehicle is safe and legal and to follow appropriate procedures if it is not.
- To act as company ambassador when dealing with customers.
- To complete all paperwork promptly and accurately as required.
- To plan and adapt routes as necessary and feedback to traffic office on any issues around load planning and routing.
- To operate all vehicle systems including pump loading and discharge at Southern Water sites.
- To comply with all Health & Safety requirements in depot, on road and at customers’ premises and to take responsibility for ensuring own fitness to drive at all times.
- Report any vehicle issues or accidents promptly to management for immediate action.
- Experience
- Proven experience in commercial driving, particularly with tanker vehicles.
- Valid HGV licence with relevant category for tanker operations (e.g., Category C+E)
- Knowledge of road safety regulations and compliance requirements for transporting liquid goods.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage time effectively.
Hours of work: Monday to Friday 7.30am to 5.30am with every other Saturday morning by arrangement.
