About Taka Taka
Taka Taka is a growing Greek street food brand serving freshly prepared gyros, souvlaki, wraps, bowls and Mediterranean favourites.
We are looking for an experienced and hands-on Shift Manager to lead our team and support the smooth running of our restaurant.
The Role
As Shift Manager, you will take responsibility for the restaurant during your shifts, ensuring excellent customer service, consistent food quality and full compliance with food-safety and company procedures.
You will lead from the front, support the team during busy periods and work closely with the Restaurant Manager to achieve operational and performance targets.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, organise and motivate the team during each shift.
- Allocate duties and manage breaks effectively.
- Deliver fast, friendly and professional customer service.
- Ensure all orders are prepared accurately and to Taka Taka standards.
- Monitor food quality, portion control and speed of service.
- Manage counter, collection and delivery-platform orders.
- Handle customer complaints professionally and resolve issues promptly.
- Complete opening, closing and shift-handover procedures.
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness, hygiene and food safety.
- Ensure temperature checks, cleaning records and other compliance documents are completed.
- Follow allergen, stock-rotation and cross-contamination procedures.
- Manage tills, refunds, cash reconciliation and end-of-day checks.
- Monitor stock levels, deliveries, food waste and product availability.
- Train, coach and support new and existing team members.
- Report maintenance, staffing, safety or operational concerns to senior management.
About You
The successful candidate will be reliable, organised and confident working in a fast-paced restaurant environment.
Essential Requirements
- Previous supervisory or management experience in a QSR, takeaway, fast-food or busy hospitality environment.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Excellent customer-service and complaint-handling abilities.
- Good understanding of food hygiene, allergens and health and safety.
- Experience handling cash, tills and online-ordering systems.
- Ability to remain calm and make decisions under pressure.
- Flexible availability, including evenings, late nights, weekends and bank holidays.
- Legal right to work in the United Kingdom.
Desirable
- Previous Shift Manager or Assistant Manager experience.
- Experience with Deliveroo, Uber Eats or Just Eat.
- Food Safety Level 2 or Level 3 qualification.
- Experience with stock counts, labour control and team training.
