Main responsibilities:
Early Years Foundation Stage
· To implement and embed all aspects of the Early years Foundation Stage to the highest standard.
· To be responsible for a group of key children by observing, planning, monitoring and accurately recording the children’s development.
· To make timely referrals for key children with the support of the Nursery Manager and Nursery SENCO.
· To work in partnership with other professionals to improve outcomes for children.
· To continually reflect on practice and suggest ways we can improve to the nursery management team.
· To plan, prepare and participate in a range of activities which support the cultural capital of the setting and ensure consistent and quality delivery in line with the early years’ foundation stage.
· To work alongside the team to ensure the Early Years Curriculum meets our core values
· To plan the early years curriculum alongside the wider team ensuring the cultural capital is considered.
· To be a key person to a group of children, acknowledging the important place this has in a child and their families lives.
· To communicate effectively with all parents and carers about the day to day needs of the children, their development and fostering a ethos of parental involvement all the way through the child’s early years journey. Encourage positive parenting skills and attend parents evenings/open days as required.
Health and Safety
· To ensure that the nursery is a safe environment for children, staff and others. Including adhering to Health and Safety Regulations and ensuring statutory requirements are met.
· Bringing any concerns immediately to the nursery management team.
Safeguarding
· To put the child’s wellbeing at the forefront of everything we do.
· To maintain records and documentation that complies with out statutory requirements and ensure any safeguarding concerns are raised immediately with the Designated safeguarding lead or their deputy
· To have a working knowledge of safeguarding procedures and whistleblowing procedure.
Partnerships
· To liaise closely with parents/carers, informing them about the nursery and its curriculum, exchanging information about children’s progress and encouraging parental’ involvement.
· To work with other professionals in the local area for the benefit of children and families.
· To work with The Bexhill Family Collective to plan and hold fundraising events.
· To work collaboratively with other Early Years Services run by The Bexhill Family Collective CIC
Other:
· Work with the CEO and management teamto identify projects that would meet the needs of the children or the community.
· To ensure that you work in accordance with the policies and procedures of The Bexhill Family Collective CIC and the Early Years Statutory framework.
