Overview
We are seeking customer/family friendly individuals to join our Summer Security Team in Newcastle city centre this summer!
This role offers an excellent opportunity to gain valuable experience in public facing security and safety during the busy summer months. Successful candidates will be responsible for maintaining a safe environment, monitoring event spaces, and providing assistance where needed. They'll assist with the set up and close down of event spaces each day as part of their role inline with a plan , and supported by a dedicated management team.
Applicants must hold a valid SIA licence and be committed to ensuring the safety and security of all visitors and staff. The events are family friendly and are in place through the summer period.
Responsibilities
- Maintain a friendly, welcoming visible presence to reassure the public and others, providing assistance when required.
- Respond promptly to incidents on site inline with SOP's
- Record detailed reports of any suspicious activity or incidents encountered during shifts.
- Promote site policies and procedures to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure continuous coverage across all designated areas.
- Physically set-up and close own the event space at the start/end of each day.
Skills
- Ability to remain calm and professional under pressure.
- Able to adapt communication style - family friendly oriented, and be able to deal with issues subtly with the least possible distraction from the event space.
- Basic first aid skills are highly desirable, with the ability to respond effectively in emergencies.
- Excellent observational skills with keen attention to detail.
- Good communication skills, capable of liaising confidently with colleagues and public alike.
- Reliable, punctual, organised, and able to work flexible hours during the summer period. This position offers an engaging environment for those eager to develop their security expertise while contributing positively to the safety of our community during the summer months.
This is a temporary role over the summer period. Shift timings range from 8am - 9pm, depending on the location assigned on a particular day- rotas planned in advance.
Pay: £13.50 per hour
