We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled PHARMACY DISPENSER to join our team.
- Pharmacy dispenser supports the pharmacist and wider pharmacy team in providing safe, accurate, and efficient patient care. Key responsibilities typically include:For Mediland Pharmacy, these responsibilities can be tailored specifically to an NHS-contract pharmacy providing UK-wide patient-centred services, including home delivery and remote patient support.
- Receiving and processing NHS and private prescriptions accurately.
- Preparing, dispensing, and labelling medicines under the supervision of a pharmacist.
- Ensuring the correct medicine, strength, quantity, and formulation are supplied.
- Maintaining patient confidentiality and handling personal information in accordance with relevant regulations.
- Providing patients with appropriate information about their medicines, referring clinical questions to the pharmacist when required.
- Supporting prescription collection, delivery, and patient communication services.
- Receiving deliveries and storing medicines safely and appropriately.
- Identifying and reporting dispensing errors, discrepancies, or potential medication-related concerns to the pharmacist.
- Supporting controlled drug procedures and other legal and regulatory requirements.
- Keeping the dispensary clean, organised, and compliant with health and safety standards.
- Assisting with NHS services and other pharmacy-led patient care initiatives.
- Working effectively with pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, delivery teams, and other healthcare professionals.
- Providing friendly, respectful, and patient-centred service at all times.
- Following the pharmacy's standard operating procedures (SOPs), quality standards, and safeguarding requirements.
- Participating in ongoing training and maintaining professional competence.
Key Requirements
- Previous experience working as a Pharmacy Dispenser is essential.
- Good knowledge and understanding of the dispensing process.
- Experience using PMR systems such as Titan and RX Web is highly desirable.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to dispensing accuracy.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a pharmacy team.
- Good understanding of patient confidentiality and pharmacy procedures.
- Ability to manage workload efficiently and meet deadlines.
- Commitment to providing safe, professional, and patient-centred care.
- Willingness to follow pharmacy SOPs, NHS requirements, and relevant regulatory standards.
Experience with Titan or RX Web PMR systems will be considered a strong advantage.
