Maypole Gardens will be the newest addition to Crystal Care Collection's growing portfolio of luxury care homes across the Midlands.
We are looking for an ambitious, values-driven General Manager to lead our brand-new 66-bed residential care home in Peterborough.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced care leader to join us early, shape the home from the ground up and build something that you can genuinely be proud of.
With Maypole Gardens due to open in February 2027, we are looking for someone who can bring the right attitude, energy and vision to a new home, someone who wants to create an exceptional environment for residents and build a strong, committed team around them.
About the role
As General Manager, you will have overall responsibility for the day-to-day leadership and success of Maypole Gardens.
You will play a key role in establishing the culture of the home, recruiting and developing your team, building relationships with residents and families and ensuring the highest standards of care and service from day one.
This is a role for someone who is proactive, visible and hands-on. Someone who doesn't wait for things to happen, but sees an opportunity, takes ownership and makes it happen.
You will be responsible for:
- Leading and developing a strong, motivated and values-led team
- Creating a positive culture where residents and colleagues feel valued
- Ensuring consistently high standards of care, safeguarding and resident experience
- Recruiting the right people and developing them to be their best
- Building strong relationships with residents, families, professionals and the local community
- Ensuring the home is well managed, organised and financially sustainable
- Working closely with regional and support teams
- Preparing the home for opening and overseeing its growth as occupancy develops
- Maintaining strong regulatory standards and ensuring the home is CQC-ready
What we're looking for
We are looking for an experienced care leader who has a proven track record of running a good, reputable care home.
You will ideally have:
- Previous experience as a General Manager, Registered Manager or similar senior leadership role within a care setting
- A strong understanding of CQC expectations and regulatory compliance
- A proven track record of delivering high standards of care
- Experience leading, developing and retaining strong teams
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
- A commercial and operational mindset
- The confidence and resilience to lead a brand-new home
- A proactive approach and the ability to make things happen
- Genuine passion for providing outstanding care and creating great places for people to live and work
