Compliance Officer (Supported Housing)
Purpose of the role:
To lead and manage all compliance, regulatory, and health & safety requirements across the organisation’s supported housing properties and support services. The role ensures full legal and regulatory compliance, minimises risk, and upholds the highest standards of safety and quality for residents and staff.
Main duties
- Oversee all property compliance including gas safety, electrical testing (EICR), fire safety, asbestos, legionella, and EPC requirements
- Manage health and safety policies, risk assessments, audits, and incident reporting
- Ensure adherence to CQC standards, Housing Ombudsman, Regulator of Social Housing, and relevant legislation
- Plan and deliver regular compliance audits and property inspections
- Maintain accurate compliance records, certificates, and monitoring systems
- Develop, review, and update policies and procedures
- Support staff training on compliance and health & safety
- Liaise with regulators, contractors, and external bodies
- Provide regular compliance reports and risk updates to the relevant parties
Experience
Essential
- Proven experience in a compliance, health & safety, or quality role within housing, supported housing, or social care
- NEBOSH National General Certificate in Occupational Health & Safety (or equivalent)
- Strong knowledge of UK property compliance (gas, electrical, fire, asbestos, legionella)
- Good understanding of CQC Fundamental Standards and housing regulatory frameworks
- Excellent organisational skills with high attention to detail and ability to manage multiple deadlines
Desirable
- IOSH Managing Safely or higher NEBOSH qualification
- Experience of internal auditing or compliance management systems
- Level 4/5 qualification in Health & Social Care, Housing, or Quality Management
- Knowledge of supported housing-specific requirements and safeguarding
- Driving licence and access to own vehicle

Pay: From £30,000.00 per year
