Apex Specialist Education is a specialist (SEMH) secondary school and alternative provision. Apex Specialist Education facilitates a high level of tailored pastoral and academic support, rooted in a trauma-informed approach to ensure all children have the means to flourish. We have developed an ambitious curriculum which provides a means for pupils to access the national curriculum, and achieve a suite of qualifications. Students will be supported effectively to integrate at a pace suitable for them through carefully planned programmes of learning, appropriately adapted to suit need.
Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate ICT / iMedia Teacher to join our team starting this September 2026. The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating an engaging digital learning environment, introducing students to creative media and technology, and fostering digital literacy. To ensure a smooth transition, there is potential for a few paid days over the summer to complete initial curriculum planning. Prior teaching experience is not required if you have the right subject expertise and a genuine passion for supporting and mentoring young people.
Duties
As an ICT / iMedia teacher at Apex Specialist Education, you’ll play one of the most vital roles in the development of our young people. That will include:
- Tailored Learning: Delivering outstanding digital and creative media learning journeys for our young people, adapting teaching methods and resources to meet individual special educational needs (SEN).
- Summer Preparation: Preparing schemes of work ahead of the September start (with potential paid planning days over the summer).
- Environment: Making sure your classroom and computer lab environment is never anything but calm, safe, supportive, and conducive to learning through effective, trauma-informed behaviour management.
- Holistic Development: Realising our commitment to educating ‘the whole child’, mentoring students, and promoting emotional well-being.
- Assessment & Progress: Monitoring student progress through light-touch, constructive assessments and providing encouraging feedback to build student confidence.
- School Ethos: Getting to know Apex Specialist Education’s philosophy and policies inside out, so that you’re able to implement them in everything you do.

Pay: From £32,916.00 per year
