Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Project Engineer to join our dynamic engineering team. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing and managing engineering projects from conception through to completion, ensuring they meet technical specifications, safety standards, and client requirements. Duties
- Lead and coordinate engineering projects, ensuring timely delivery within scope and budget
- Conduct root cause analysis to identify underlying issues and implement effective solutions
- Develop detailed schematics and system designs using CAD software such as AutoCAD and SolidWorks
- Utilise systems engineering principles to integrate various components into cohesive solutions
- Design and simulate systems using MATLAB, Python, C++, and other programming languages
- Prepare technical documentation including schematics, system specifications, and reports
- Apply GD&T principles to ensure precise manufacturing tolerances are maintained
- Collaborate with construction teams during installation phases, providing technical support as needed
- Analyse data from laboratory tests or field measurements to inform project decisions
- Manage project timelines, resources, and stakeholder communications effectively
Skills
- Proficiency in CAD software including AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and general system design tools
- Strong understanding of mechanical knowledge, construction processes, and systems engineering principles
- Experience with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and automation systems
- Programming skills in Python, C++, MATLAB for data analysis and system simulation
- Ability to perform root cause analysis and troubleshoot complex technical issues
- Knowledge of GD&T standards for manufacturing precision
- Data analysis skills with experience interpreting laboratory or field data
- Familiarity with schematics creation and interpretation for electrical or mechanical systems
- Excellent organisational skills with project management experience
- Laboratory experience is advantageous for testing protocols and validation processes

Pay: £32,138.99-£60,782.75 per year
