Role Overview
As the Welder/Fabricator, you will play a key role in maintaining and fabricating high-quality equipment for our operations. Working in a fast-paced environment, you will ensure all welding and fabrication tasks meet the highest standards, supporting the company’s reputation for reliability and service excellence. SCHUR also are in partnership with Buckhurst plant hire, you will also be expected to repair plant and equipment to a high standard. Experience with hydraulics is a distinct advantage but not necessary.
Key Responsibilities:
Completing deadlines in a safe and timely manner.
Welding and Fabrication:
- Weld to a high standard using MIG techniques on mild steel and Hardox, ranging from 1mm to 35mm.
- Fabricate parts and structures according to technical drawings.
Quality Assurance:
- completed work to ensure compliance with company standards.
- Monitor and maintain tools, equipment, and supplies.
Collaboration:
- Work closely with other departments to ensure timely delivery of projects.
- Support and mentor team members as required.
What We’re Looking For
Essential Skills & Experience:
- At least 2 years’ experience in a similar role.
- Proven ability to MIG & TIG weld to a high standard.
- Proficient in fabrication and reading technical drawings.
Desirable Skills & Qualifications:
- Mechanical experience including hydraulics, and/or electronics.
- Forklift Truck (FLT) license.
- Experience with CAD
- Experience operating plasma cutting equipment (KERF)

- A proactive, can-do attitude with excellent problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
