We're looking for a hardworking, enthusiastic and compassionate Veterinary Auxiliary to join our busy MacLellan Vets Eastgate team.

The role includes:
- Cleaning and preparing consulting rooms, wards and theatre areas.
- Maintaining high standards of cleanliness, biosecurity and sterility.
- Cleaning, sterilising and preparing surgical instruments.
- Reception duties, including welcoming clients, answering telephones and booking appointments.
- Admitting and discharging patients.
- Basic patient handling and restraint under the direction of our veterinary surgeons and nurses.
- Stocking and maintaining clinical areas.
- Supporting the day-to-day running of the practice.
Essential requirements:
- Previous experience working in an animal care environment, such as a veterinary practice, farm, kennel, cattery, rescue centre or similar.
- Good literacy and numeracy skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and a strong work ethic.
- The ability to remain calm and organised in a busy, often stressful environment.
- Excellent communication skills and a friendly, professional manner.
- Willingness to learn and work as part of a close knit team.
- As this role includes participation in our out-of-hours rota, applicants must live within a 30 minute drive of the practice and have reliable transport.
Desirable (but not essential):
- Veterinary Care Assistant qualification.
- Animal Nursing Assistant qualification.
Please note: This is a paid Veterinary Auxiliary position and is not suitable as a placement for students undertaking Veterinary Care Assistant (VCA) or Registered Veterinary Nurse (RVN) qualifications. Our practice is currently at capacity for student training placements and is therefore unable to support additional course placements at this time.
