Job Summary
We’re looking for a passionate and reliable Assistant Chef to join our friendly kitchen team.
This is a great opportunity for someone who loves working with food, enjoys being part of a busy team and takes pride in delivering consistently high-quality dishes. You’ll work closely alongside our Head Chef, supporting the day-to-day running of the kitchen and helping ensure every service runs smoothly.
The role will involve food preparation and service, maintaining excellent food safety and hygiene standards, assisting with stock and inventory management, and supporting the wider kitchen team. You’ll also have the opportunity to contribute ideas to menus and help maintain the high standards our customers expect.
We’re looking for someone enthusiastic, organised and confident in a kitchen environment, with a positive attitude and a genuine passion for great food.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation and presentation of high-quality dishes in accordance with established recipes and standards.
- Collaborate with the Head Chef on menu planning for the restaurant and events venue.
- Supervise kitchen staff, providing guidance and training to ensure efficient workflow and adherence to safety protocols.
- Manage inventory, including ordering supplies, tracking stock levels, and minimizing waste.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Participate in catering events as needed, showcasing culinary skills in various settings.
- Monitor food production processes to ensure consistency in taste and presentation.
- Assist with shift management to ensure smooth operations during peak service times.
Skills
- Proven experience in food production and kitchen management within a fine restaurant and events venue environment.
- Strong leadership skills with experience in supervising teams effectively.
- Knowledge of food safety standards and best practices for food handling.
- Proficient in menu planning, inventory control, and catering operations.
- Excellent culinary skills with a focus on quality cooking techniques.
- Familiarity with hospitality principles and customer service excellence.
- Experience in banquet service, bartending, or related areas is a plus.
