Overview
We are seeking a skilled and energetic Experienced Tarmac HotBox Driver to join our dynamic construction team. In this vital role, you will operate specialized hotbox trucks designed for transporting and delivering hot asphalt mixtures safely and efficiently to various job sites. Your expertise will ensure smooth operations, timely deliveries, and adherence to safety standards. Duties
- Safely operate Tarmac HotBox trucks, ensuring proper handling and delivery of hot asphalt materials to designated locations
- Conduct pre-trip inspections of the vehicle, including checking mechanical systems, temperature controls, and safety features
- Maintain accurate delivery logs, documentation, and communication with site supervisors regarding delivery schedules and any issues encountered
- Coordinate with project managers and crew members to ensure timely arrival and proper placement of materials on-site
- Monitor the temperature and quality of asphalt during transit to prevent spoilage or quality degradation
- Perform routine maintenance checks and report any mechanical issues promptly to ensure vehicle reliability
- Follow all traffic laws, safety regulations, and company policies to promote a safe working environment
Requirements
- Proven experience operating Tarmac HotBox trucks or similar heavy-duty asphalt delivery vehicles
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with appropriate endorsements for operating large trucks and hazardous materials if applicable
- Mechanical knowledge to perform basic vehicle inspections and troubleshoot common issues
- Experience with excavators or other construction machinery is a plus for coordinating material placement
- Strong understanding of safety protocols related to transportation of hot materials and construction site operations
- Excellent communication skills for coordinating with team members and site personnel
- Ability to work in varying weather conditions and maintain focus during long driving shifts
