Millard’s Studio is a Bristol-based, design-led architectural and construction company delivering high-quality residential projects across Bristol and the surrounding areas.
We’re growing our construction team and are looking for experienced, reliable and professional carpenters to join us on a subcontract basis.
We have a strong pipeline of work for the remainder of 2026, including multiple loft conversions, extensions, renovations and bespoke residential projects, and we're looking to build long-term relationships with skilled carpenters and carpentry teams who take pride in their work.
The role
We’re looking for carpenters who can work confidently across residential construction projects, from structural carpentry through to first and second fix.
Projects will include:
- Loft conversions and roof structures
- Extensions and renovations
- First and second fix carpentry
- Roof construction and structural timber work
- Door and window installations
- Bespoke timber work and detailing
- Internal finishes and joinery
- General carpentry associated with high-quality residential builds
You’ll be working from detailed architectural and construction drawings and alongside our project managers and wider construction team.
What we're looking for
We’re looking for someone who is:
- Highly experienced in residential carpentry
- Confident working independently and from drawings
- Reliable, punctual and organised
- Able to work to a high standard without compromising on programme
- Professional and respectful when working in clients’ homes
- Comfortable working as part of a wider team
- CSCS qualified where applicable
- Fully equipped with their own tools and transport
- Self-employed and able to work on a subcontract basis
