About Morpeth Golf Club
Morpeth Golf Club is one of Northumberland’s premier golfing venues. Founded in 1906 and designed by six-time Open Champion Harry Vardon, the course offers a great test of golf for players of all abilities. In addition to its stunning 18-hole parkland course, Morpeth provides excellent practice facilities and a welcoming clubhouse for members, guests, and the public.
The Role
We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Assistant Greenkeeper to join our dedicated team. The successful candidate will assist in the maintenance and presentation of the golf course to the highest standards.
Key Responsibilities
General golf course maintenance, including mowing, course set-up, and bunker maintenance.
Operation of a range of turf maintenance equipment.
Assisting with course improvement projects.
Supporting the Head Greenkeeper and wider greenkeeping team in daily operations.
Essential Requirements
Previous greenkeeping experience is required.
A positive attitude and strong work ethic.
Ability to work as part of a team and independently when required.
Desirable Qualifications & Skills
NVQ / Level 2 qualification in Sports Turf Management (desirable but not essential).
Mechanical knowledge and experience operating John Deere machinery (desirable).
PA1 / PA6 spraying certificates (desirable but not essential).
Chainsaw certification and experience (desirable but not essential).
