1 x TRAMPER (AWAY ALL WEEK) This is bulk tipper work, all over the country, moving aggregates, sewage cake, power station waste, contaminated soils etc etc
1 x LOCAL DAYWORK This is mainly local muck-away and quarry work
We are a small tipper haulage company based near Cheltenham, GL54.
We operate a mixed fleet of 8x4 Tipper Trucks based at our operating centre at Andoversford near Cheltenham.
Due to continued business growth we are now seeking experienced tipper drivers.
The ideal candidate will have held their HGV licence for at least 2 years, with at least 6 months experience driving 8x4 tippers, with no more than 6 points, and must be over 25 (insurance purposes)
They will also hold an up to date Driver CPC qualification and MP Connect card (although not essential as training can be provided for this). A driver tachograph card sound knowledge of drivers hours and regulations will also be expected, and good geographical knowledge of the local area and further afield. Experience in driving both auto and manual split gearbox is essential.
The work consists mainly of a combination of Muck-Away from building sites, Aggregate and Stone deliveries from quarries and working within roadworks, road planing etc, therefore experience within all of these areas would be beneficial.
We mainly cover Gloucestershire, Wiltshire, Warwickshire, Oxfordshire, Worcestershire, Bristol and Avon and often further afield when necessary.
Generally the hours will be between 5am to 5pm, although these will differ from time to time therefore any applicant must be flexible and happy to work around this. Nights out will be required on rare occasion on Daywork position and 4 nights a week on Tramper position, our vehicles have larger sleeper cabs to accommodate this, Night out allowance is paid at £25.00
The position is Monday to Friday, with very occasional weekend or night work offered. Note, Friday is as much a working day as Monday and therefore same working hours will be expected.
Currently we are specifically looking for
1 x tramper driver to be away all week,
1 x driver for more local work with very occasional nights out .
Due to the nature of the work the vehicles can become very dirty, although we pride ourselves on keeping vehicles as clean and presentable as possible and would expect any candidates to have the same attitude, and therefore they would be expected to wash the vehicle regularly (obviously this would be in paid company time).
Pay rate is:
£15.50 per hour (automatic vehicle)
£16.00 per hour (manual vehicle)
Hours are paid on start to finish, no deductions for breaks, weekly paid.
This position is currently being offered on a Full Time basis, PAYE, weekly paid, with company pension and 28 days paid holiday.
