Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated Senior Kitchen Assistant to join our kitchen team. In this vital role, you will support the kitchen operations by preparing ingredients, assisting with meal assembly, and maintaining a clean, safe, and efficient kitchen environment. This position offers an opportunity to develop your culinary skills while working in a fast-paced, team-oriented setting.
Duties
- Assist with food preparation and meal assembly, ensuring all dishes meet quality standards and presentation expectations
- Support chefs and kitchen staff in cooking, and plating food efficiently.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations, including sanitizing surfaces, and disposing of waste properly
- Follow food safety protocols diligently to uphold hygiene standards and prevent cross-contamination
- Help with inventory management by receiving deliveries, storing ingredients correctly, and monitoring stock levels
- Use of Deep fat fryer/ hob/ oven/ grill, knives etc for food prep
- Monitor and record fridge temperatures
- Monitor and update allergens information
- Onsite laundry ( Teatowels / Aprons)
- Previous experience in catering, restaurant kitchens, or food service environments is highly desirable
- Hands-on cooking or culinary experience demonstrating familiarity with meal preparation techniques
- Knowledge of food safety standards and best practices in a commercial kitchen setting
- Experience with food preparation equipment such as knives, mixers, ovens, and other kitchen tools
- Strong understanding of hygiene practices related to food handling and sanitation
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills and a team-oriented mindset
