Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and professional Delivery Driver to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for transporting goods efficiently and safely to various locations, ensuring timely deliveries. This role requires a strong focus on customer service, adherence to safety standards, and excellent driving skills. A valid driving licence and experience in commercial driving are essential for this position.
Duties
- Safely operate flatbed lorries and other commercial vehicles to deliver goods across designated routes
- Load and unload items, ensuring they are secured properly during transit
- Plan delivery routes effectively to optimise efficiency and meet delivery schedules
- Communicate with dispatchers regarding delivery times, delays, or issues encountered on the route
- Obtain signatures and complete delivery documentation accurately
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections and report any maintenance or safety concerns promptly
- Maintain a clean and organised vehicle at all times
- Provide excellent customer service by engaging professionally with clients during deliveries
Experience
- Proven experience as a delivery driver.
- Strong driving skills with a clean driving record
- Familiarity with local roads and navigation systems
- Previous experience in delivery driver roles is highly desirable
- Ability to handle physically demanding tasks such as loading and unloading goods
- Knowledge of safety regulations related to commercial vehicle operation
