Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Block Paving Specialist to join our dynamic construction team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing high-quality block paving surfaces that enhance outdoor spaces, driveways, walkways, and patios. Responsibilities
- Prepare the site by clearing, leveling, and setting out the area for paving installation
- Use hand tools, power tools, and masonry equipment to lay blocks accurately and efficiently
- Ensure proper compaction of sub-base layers to provide a stable foundation for paving
- Cut and shape blocks as needed using saws and other cutting tools to fit designated spaces
- Apply jointing sand or mortar to secure blocks and prevent movement over time
- Follow safety protocols consistently when handling tools such as welding equipment or roofing materials
- Collaborate with team members to complete projects on time while maintaining high quality standards
Qualifications
- Proven experience in bricklaying, masonry, or block paving projects
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and masonry equipment
- Knowledge of carpentry, roofing, and welding techniques is a plus
- Ability to read technical drawings and interpret project specifications
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety practices
- Physical stamina to perform manual labor in various weather conditions
- Relevant certifications or training in masonry or construction trades are advantageous
