About The Weavers Shed
The Weavers Shed is a new and exciting community pub and events venue in Golcar, Huddersfield. We are building something different, a welcoming, premium pub with a strong drinks offering, live entertainment, private events and, as we grow, weddings and food-led hospitality.
We are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Bars Manager to take ownership of our bar operation and help us deliver an outstanding experience for every customer.
This is a hands-on management role for someone who loves hospitality, understands great service and knows how to run a busy bar efficiently and profitably.
The Role
As Bars Manager, you will be responsible for the day-to-day operation of the bars, leading the team, maintaining high service standards and ensuring the drinks operation is consistently delivering against sales, GP and customer experience targets.
You will work closely with the General Manager and senior management team to develop the drinks offering, improve standards and maximise sales.
Key Responsibilities
- Take full responsibility for the day-to-day running of the bar operation
- Lead, motivate and develop the bar team
- Create and maintain excellent service standards
- Manage rotas, staffing levels and labour costs
- Train and coach team members in drinks knowledge, service and responsible alcohol sales
- Ensure the bar is fully stocked, organised and service-ready
- Manage stock levels, ordering, deliveries and stock rotation
- Carry out regular stock takes and investigate variances
- Work towards agreed GP and sales targets
- Control wastage and minimise stock loss
- Maintain excellent cellar, bar and storage standards
- Ensure all licensing, Challenge 25, health & safety and company procedures are followed
- Deal confidently with customer feedback and complaints
- Support the delivery of live music, private parties and larger events
- Help develop cocktail menus, promotions and drinks packages
- Work with suppliers to identify new products, promotions and commercial opportunities
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness and presentation
- Support the wider management team with the overall operation of the venue
- Lead by example and be prepared to get stuck in during busy services
What We're Looking For
We are looking for someone who has genuine passion for hospitality and wants to make their mark on a growing venue.
You should have:
- Previous experience as a Bar Manager, Assistant Manager or senior bartender
- Strong knowledge of drinks and bar operations
- Experience managing and developing a team
- Good understanding of stock control and GP
- Experience working in a busy pub, bar, events venue or similar hospitality environment
- Excellent customer service skills
- Strong organisation and attention to detail
- Confidence managing busy services and events
- A professional and positive attitude
- The ability to lead from the front
- Good commercial awareness and an understanding of how to drive sales
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends and during busy event periods
Desirable
- Cocktail and mixology experience
- Experience with private events and functions
- Experience creating cocktail menus and drinks promotions
- Cellar management experience
- Experience with EPOS and stock management systems
- Personal Licence holder or willingness to obtain one
