Job Summary
Small Heath Medical Practice is seeking an enthusiastic and committed Salaried GP to join our friendly and supportive clinical team for 4 to 6 sessions per week.
This is an excellent opportunity to work within a well-established, patient-focused practice serving a diverse population in East Birmingham. We pride ourselves on delivering high-quality primary care while maintaining a manageable workload and a positive work-life balance for our clinicians.
The successful candidate will work alongside experienced GPs, nursing staff, pharmacists, and an established administrative team in a collaborative and supportive environment.

Main Duties of the Role
The post holder will:
- Provide comprehensive primary care services to registered patients.
- Undertake face-to-face, telephone and online consultations.
- Assess, diagnose and manage acute and chronic medical conditions.
- Prescribe and review medications in accordance with national and local guidance.
- Maintain accurate and contemporaneous clinical records.
- Work collaboratively with the wider multidisciplinary team.
- Participate in clinical governance, quality improvement and audit activities.
- Contribute to safeguarding and risk management processes.
- Participate in practice meetings and service development initiatives.
- Carry out home visits where clinically appropriate, although these are kept to a minimum.
Workload
- Minimal home visits
- Dedicated administration time included within sessions
- Support from clinical pharmacists, nursing team and administrative staff
Person SpecificationEssential
- GMC registration with licence to practise
- Included on the GMC GP Register
- MRCGP qualification or equivalent
- Eligible to work in the UK
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team
- Commitment to high-quality patient care and clinical governance
Desirable
- Previous experience in UK General Practice
- Interest in chronic disease management, teaching, mentoring or quality improvement
- Experience using EMIS Web
