HGV Class 2 / Category C Driver – Full-Time or Part-Time

QBOARD Limited is looking for a reliable, experienced and physically fit HGV Class 2 (Category C) Driver to join our team in Wednesbury.
The Role
The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering MDF, decorative panels and other wood-based products from our warehouse to customers across the region.
Our delivery vehicles may include 3.5-tonne vans, 7.5-tonne trucks and up to 25-tonne rigid curtain-side HGVs, so the candidate must hold the appropriate licence and be confident driving vehicles of different sizes.
Main responsibilities include:
- Loading and collecting goods from our Wednesbury warehouse and delivering them to customers according to the planned delivery schedule and route.
- Driving 3.5t, 7.5t and up to 25t rigid curtain-side vehicles as required.
- Ensuring products are transported safely and securely.
- Assisting with loading and unloading when required.
- Some customers may not have forklift facilities, therefore manual handling and unloading of MDF, panels and other wood products may occasionally be required.
- Checking deliveries and ensuring the correct products and quantities are delivered to each customer.
- Keeping the vehicle clean and reporting any vehicle issues or damage.
- Communicating professionally with customers and our warehouse/sales team.
Requirements
The ideal candidate will:
- Hold a valid UK Category C (HGV Class 2) driving licence.
- Have a valid Driver CPC and Digital Tachograph Card, where required.
- Have previous experience driving HGV/rigid curtain-side vehicles.
- Be confident driving vehicles ranging from 3.5t to 25t.
- Be physically fit and capable of manual handling, as some deliveries may require assistance with unloading.
- Have a responsible and careful approach to handling vehicles and goods.
- Be punctual, reliable and able to follow a planned delivery schedule.
- Have good communication skills and a professional attitude towards customers.
- Experience delivering MDF, timber, sheet materials, building materials or similar products would be an advantage.
