About the Role
OLightOn is recruiting experienced Freelance Specialist Employability Advisers with a strong background in supporting individuals with mental health conditions and/or neurodiversity.
We are currently building a pool of trusted freelance associates in preparation for upcoming DWP-funded programmes across West London.
You will deliver structured employability support to customers facing additional barriers, helping them build confidence and progress towards employment through a mix of group workshops and 1-to-1 support.
We are particularly interested in candidates with experience delivering on DWP-funded programmes, including Restart, Work and Health Programme (WHP), or similar provision.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver inclusive and engaging employability workshops
- Provide tailored 1-to-1 support for customers with additional needs
- Adapt delivery approaches to support customers with mental health and/or neurodiversity-related barriers
- Support customers to build confidence and move towards employment
- Maintain accurate records and reporting (MI)
- Manage delivery independently in a professional and supportive manner
We Are Looking For
- Experience supporting customers with mental health conditions and/or neurodiversity within an employability setting
- Ability to adapt delivery to meet a range of needs and barriers
- Confidence managing more complex customer situations
- Strong understanding of progression-focused, non-clinical support
- Experience delivering on DWP or similar programmes
- Confidence delivering both group sessions and 1-to-1 support
- Reliable, organised and able to work independently
Important Note
This is not a clinical or therapeutic role.
We are looking for employability practitioners who can provide practical, work-focused support.
Desirable Experience
- Mental health awareness training
- Supporting neurodiverse customers (e.g. ADHD, autism)
- Disability employment support
- Coaching or solution-focused approaches
Availability
- Typically 2–3 days per week
- Ability to commit to short-term programmes (4–8 weeks)
- Ability to start within a reasonable notice period
Additional Information
Associates will be engaged on a project basis as programmes are secured.
Job Types: Freelance, Temporary
Pay: £175.00-£225.00 per day
