Salary: £16,000 per annum (3 days per week)
Location: Warrington WA4
Working hours: 24 per week Wednesday - Friday

The Role
We are looking for a part time Payroll Advisor / Support Administrator to join our busy payroll department. This role is central to supporting contractors with pay-related queries while assisting with payroll administration and processing.
Reporting to the Payroll Manager, you will support contractors via phone and email, manage payroll-related administration, and work closely with recruitment agencies. This role would suit someone with previous umbrella or contractor payroll experience who enjoys providing high-quality service in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the first point of contact for contractor pay queries via phone and email
- Confidently explain payslips, including umbrella income, PAYE, NIC, pension, CSA and attachment of earnings
- Resolve pay-related queries by liaising with contractors and agencies
- Process and support contractor payroll accurately and in line with legislation
- Understand different agency invoicing structures and payroll data
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with recruitment agencies
- Manage incoming assignment schedules and contracts from agencies
- Good Knowledge of Statutory Payments
- Check and input contractor mileage and expenses in line with HMRC rules
- Support auto-enrolment pension administration and pension related queries
- CSA, attachment of earnings, etc
- Complete general payroll and administrative tasks as required
Ideal Candidate
- Previous payroll experience is essential (umbrella or contractor payroll highly desirable)
- Confident explaining umbrella payslips and statutory deductions
- Excellent telephone and written communication skills
- Comfortable handling and resolving challenging queries professionally
- Highly organised with strong attention to detail
- Proactive, reliable, and a strong team player

Experience:
- Payroll experience: minimum 1–2 years preferred
- Umbrella / contractor payroll experience highly advantageous
