Job Summary
Working hours- Monday - Friday 7am - 14:30
Main duties and responsibilities:
Supporting the catering team in maintaining food safety and cleanliness standards. Including washing pots and utensils and keeping up to speed with the kitchen schedule, ensuring floors are clean, helping to keep the kitchen tidy and free from debris and potential contaminants, keeping outside areas, namely the unit’s forecourt and other outside areas tidy and clean, helping to receive, unpack and store deliveries.
Additional duties:
Occasionally undertaking food preparation work when required and aiding the catering team in keeping staff areas clean and tidy.

Please note that a Level 2 Food Safety and Hygiene qualification is required for this role and to be completed within 3 months of starting if not already held. Training is provided on site for this.
Physical fitness is essential, not just because you are on your feet all day, but also for unloading deliveries.

Responsibilities
- Responsible for cleaning and sanitising kitchen equipment, utensils, and work surfaces to uphold hygiene standards.
- Assisting with basic food preparation tasks under supervision, including peeling, chopping, and organising ingredients.
- Supporting chefs and kitchen staff with ingredient replenishment and organisation of storage areas.
- Ensuring all waste is disposed of correctly and recycling procedures are followed.
- Maintaining cleanliness in all areas of the kitchen, including floors, sinks, and storage rooms.
- Assisting with the setup and breakdown of service areas before and after shifts.
- Adhering to health and safety regulations at all times to ensure a safe working environment.
- Supporting serving staff during busy periods as required, including delivering food to tables or assisting with customer needs.
Requirements
- Prior experience in food preparation or working within a restaurant or hotel environment is desirable but not essential; training will be provided.
- Basic knowledge of kitchen safety and hygiene practices is advantageous.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Good organisational skills and a proactive attitude towards cleanliness and safety standards.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings or weekends if required.
- A positive approach to teamwork and excellent communication skills are essential for success in this role.
