External Sales Representative

Location: Field-based – Derbyshire, Nottinghamshire, South Yorkshire & Staffordshire
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent
Salary: £25,000 per year + Commission
Hours: Monday to Friday
About the Role
Bailey Earthmoving & Logistics is looking for an experienced and driven External Sales Representative to grow our customer base within the construction, earthmoving, and aggregates sectors. This is a field-based role focused on winning new business and developing long-term client relationships across multiple regions.
Key Responsibilities
- Proactively identify, pursue, and close sales opportunities across all Bailey Earthmoving & Logistics services
- Produce formal quotations and maintain accurate tender, won, and lost sales records
- Build and manage strong relationships with developers, groundworkers, builders, hauliers, and aggregates customers
- Plan and manage customer visits, keeping management informed of activity and outcomes
- Coordinate with internal teams and promote a positive working environment
- Attend meetings as directed by the Director
- Work towards agreed budgets and sales targets
- Support the Credit Control team when required
- Handle customer queries and complaints professionally and efficiently
- Suggest marketing ideas to engage customers and increase sales
- Ensure accuracy of reports and paperwork and meet required deadlines
- Represent and promote the company professionally at all times
- Carry out any additional duties as required by management
Essential Requirements
- Proven experience in construction, earthmoving, and aggregates (essential)
- Background in external or field-based sales within the construction industry
- Strong industry knowledge and existing customer relationships preferred
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
- Highly organised, self-motivated, and target-driven
- Able to work independently and as part of a team
- Full UK Driving Licence (required)

- Field-based role covering Derbyshire, Nottinghamshire, South Yorkshire, and Staffordshire
- Applicants should be based within or close to these areas and able to travel regularly
