Focus Birmingham is a leading local charity dedicated to supporting individuals with complex needs, and supporting those with sight loss. We are currently seeking a dedicated and friendly Minibus Driver to join our Central resources department on a casual basis.

Role Overview: As a Driver, you will play a crucial role in transporting adults with complex needs to and from our day centre. Your primary focus will be on safety and providing excellent customer service. This role requires a caring and helpful attitude, ensuring that all service users feel comfortable and reassured.
Key Responsibilities:
- Safely transport Service Users to and from services through the city on busy roads ensuring safety is always our priority.
- Support individuals during travel, including assisting with boarding, mobility aids, seatbelts, wheelchair restraints and other safety requirements.
- Adapt communication and support to meet the needs of individuals with visual impairments, health conditions and other complex needs.
- Conduct daily vehicle safety checks, maintain vehicle cleanliness, report defects promptly and keep accurate transport records.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues, individuals and families, communicating effectively and reporting any delays, incidents or changes in a timely manner.
Essential Requirements:
- A full, current driving license with no more than 6 points.
- D1 entitlement or PCV license (if test passed after January 1997).
- Good driving standards; previous minibus experience is advantageous.
- Friendly, approachable attitude and understanding of the needs of adults with disabilities.
Desirable Qualifications:
- MIDAS driver accreditation.
- Advanced driving training (ROSPA/IAM).
- ROSPA defensive driving training.
- Experience with minibus tail lift use and clamping.
- Experience working with individuals with visual impairments and other complex needs.
