This role will be providing support to our people and managers across the business on people and development activities. Being an ambassador for the people and development team, as the first point of contact for day to day people matters. This role plays a pivotal part in delivering our people plan and promoting confidence in the people and development team. The role is predominantly the first point of contact for our people and leaders to ensure we are working in a good way and are a great place to work. This role will work closely with the people officer, our people and development support officer and across other teams such as finance, to ensure the day to day runs smoothly and key objectives are met.
- Lead on the development, delivery and regular review of our induction process, ensuring it is fit for purpose.
- Lead on organising and implementing programmes of learning that support the sharing of internal knowledge and expertise, with input from key stakeholders.
- Design, deliver and facilitate workshop materials as required and agreed with the people development business partners
- Design course evaluations and provide evaluation reporting, promoting organisational understanding of the impact of learning interventions and programmes
- Research and source external training providers using the managed learning framework, assisting with the procurement of training providers where required
- Oversight and delegation of day-to-day people and development tasks, ensuring enquiries are answered in a timely manner, dealing with escalations from the people and development support officer and escalating further where necessary.
- Produce monthly and quarterly data, as requested, to our people and people development business partners, to support our reporting to our senior leaders and identifying areas for improvement. Escalate as appropriate.
- Oversight of our people development systems and platforms, ensuring accuracy of data and timely reporting, including Enable and Grow.
- Coordinate the delivery, ongoing maintenance and improvement of our induction process, ensuring materials and activities are up to date and effective.
- Compile monthly and quarterly people data for reporting purposes, identifying emerging patterns for escalation
- Build positive and collaborative working relationships with colleagues at all levels.
- Represent the People and Development team in a professional, supportive and solutions-focused way.

To be successful as a Learning and Development Officer you will need:
- A CIPD Level 3 qualification (or working towards), or equivalent HR, or Learning and Development experience in a people-focused role.
- Experience gathering information and providing clear, practical learning and development advice.
- Experience of delivering learning and development programmes.
- Experience collating, analysing and interpreting learning and development data (e.g., course trends, Return On Investment) to support reporting and informed decision-making.
- Confidence in using Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook, and familiar with remote meeting platforms such as Teams.
- To be a great communicator and relationship builder, with clear written communication skills and the ability to work with colleagues at all levels.
- Be able to prioritise workload, manage competing demands and organise own diary in a fast-paced environment.
