Overview
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Health Care Workers to provide exceptional care and support to our clients in various settings, including care homes, assisted living facilities, and home care environments. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of patient needs, medication administration, and behaviour management. Duties
- Assist patients with daily activities such as personal hygiene, mobility, and meal preparation
- Administer prescribed medications accurately following care plans and medical protocols
- Support patients with dementia or Alzheimer's care, ensuring their safety and comfort
- Monitor and record vital signs, behaviour changes, and overall health status
- Implement behaviour management strategies to promote positive interactions and reduce agitation
- Develop and update individualised care plans in collaboration with healthcare professionals
- Provide emotional support and companionship to patients, fostering a caring environment
- Assist with medical procedures under the supervision of nursing staff or healthcare professionals
- Support with case management tasks, including documentation and coordination of services
- Drive patients to appointments or activities as required, ensuring safe transportation
Skills
- Proven experience in nursing home, care home, or home care settings, especially in senior or dementia care
- Knowledge of medical terminology and medication administration procedures
- First aid certification is essential; additional qualifications in hospice or Alzheimer’s care are advantageous
- Strong caregiving skills with a compassionate approach towards vulnerable individuals
- Ability to manage behaviour effectively and implement personalised care strategies
- Excellent organisational skills for managing care plans and documentation accurately
- Capable of heavy lifting when assisting with mobility or transfers of patients
- Good communication skills for liaising with healthcare teams, patients, and families
- Valid driving licence preferred for transportation duties; safe driving experience essential
