Pay: £95–£105 per day PAYE
Contract: Full-time, Monday to Friday, 8:30am–4:00pm

Are you an experienced Teaching Assistant looking to secure a long-term role in a welcoming infant school for the 2026/27 academic year?
We are working with a warm and inclusive mainstream infant school in Forest Gate, Newham, who are looking to appoint an energetic, confident and committed KS1 Teaching Assistant to join their team from September.
The successful candidate will support pupils across Key Stage 1, with a particular focus on providing 1:1 and small-group support for children with Special Educational Needs (SEN).
The school are offering trial days during the first week of September, giving you the opportunity to experience the school, meet the staff and pupils, and demonstrate your skills within the classroom.
Following a successful trial, you will be offered the opportunity to start immediately in September and remain in the role for the full 2026/27 academic year.
The Role
- Providing 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with SEN across KS1
- Supporting pupils to access the curriculum and achieve their learning goals
- Delivering small-group interventions, including phonics and early literacy
- Supporting the development of early numeracy skills
- Working closely with class teachers and SEN staff to provide targeted support
- Helping pupils develop academically, socially and emotionally
- Supporting positive behaviour and encouraging pupil independence
- Contributing to a positive, engaging and inclusive classroom environment
The Ideal Candidate Will
- Have at least 1 year of experience working within a school setting
- Have experience supporting children with a range of SEN needs
- Be confident supporting pupils on a 1:1 and small-group basis
- Be comfortable delivering or supporting phonics and literacy interventions
- Be proactive, patient and able to build positive relationships with young children
- Bring energy, enthusiasm and professionalism to the classroom
- Be committed to developing a long-term career within education
- Be available full-time from September 2026 for the full academic year
- Be available to attend a trial day during the first week of September
This role would be particularly well suited to experienced Teaching Assistants, graduates and aspiring teachers, as well as those considering careers in educational psychology, speech and language therapy or other child-focused professions.
