We run two high-performing Kumon supplementary education centres in London—Kumon Hoxton and Kumon Colindale—serving children aged 3–18 in Maths and English.
We are a small, dedicated team. With our Colindale centre nearing full capacity and our Hoxton centre expanding, we are looking for an organised, proactive individual to grow alongside our business.
Required Working Hours (Non-Negotiable)
This role requires a mix of on-site session management and flexible remote administration. You must be able to commit to the following site hours:
- Monday: 3:30pm – 7:00pm — Kumon Hoxton (N1)
- Wednesday: 3:35pm – 6:45pm — Kumon Colindale (NW9)
- Thursday: 3:30pm – 7:00pm — Kumon Hoxton (N1)
- Saturday: 11:15am – 3:00pm — Kumon Hoxton (N1)
- Remaining Hours (Admin): Flexible remote work (Work from Home on Tuesday or Friday)
Key Responsibilities1. Teaching & Centre Operations
- Support children aged 3–18 during live Kumon sessions.
- Mark worksheets accurately and manage the daily flow of the classroom.
- Conduct student Diagnostic Tests (assessments) and lead Early Learner sessions.
- Maintain a calm, focused, and supportive learning environment.
- Uphold and enforce all safeguarding policies at all times.
2. Team Leadership & Administration
- Lead centre sessions independently in the Instructor's absence.
- Onboard, induct, and monitor the performance of new teaching assistants.
- Manage weekly staff scheduling (collecting availability by the 15th and assigning shifts by the 20th of each month).
3. Parent Communication & Community
- Act as the primary point of contact for day-to-day parent enquiries via WhatsApp and email.
- Draft and send routine updates (payment reminders, absence notices, schedule adjustments, venue updates).
- Respond promptly to new enquiries, follow up with prospective families, and manage enrolment documentation.
- Moderate the centre’s WhatsApp community accounts.
4. Finance & Growth
- Monitor the direct debit platform (Access Suite), flag failed payments, and follow up on outstanding accounts.
- Maintain precise, up-to-date student records.
- Coordinate, book, and confirm new student assessments.
- Support local marketing, outreach initiatives, and social media content creation (Instagram/Facebook) to celebrate student achievements and promotions.
What We’re Looking For
- A Natural Leader: Someone who commands respect from the assistant team and builds instant trust with parents.
- Great with Children: Patient, kind, encouraging, and adaptable to students of all ages and abilities.
- A Fast Learner: Highly organized, reliable, and proactive—you anticipate needs rather than waiting to be managed.
- Confident Communicator: Strong, clear spoken English is essential for parent and team interactions. (For written communication, we provide AI support tools, so perfect written English is less critical than verbal confidence).
- Comfortable with Numbers: Able to accurately track student fee records and financial platforms.
- Experience: Prior experience working with children is preferred but not essential. Full availability for the specified class hours is a strict requirement.
What We Offer
- Competitive pro-rata salary with a significant pay increase post-probation.
- Performance-based enrolment bonuses (£10–£35 per student).
- Flexible work-from-home hours for administrative duties.
- A meaningful role where you can make a tangible impact on children's education.
- Clear pathways to scale up your hours, salary, and responsibilities as the business continues to grow.
