The Information Governance Support Officer ensures the Trust complies with NHS, national and international information governance regulations, including GDPR, the Data Protection Act, FOI, and ISO27001. Acting as the first point of contact for Information Governance queries, the role provides advice and support on information sharing, information requests, confidentiality, training, risk management, and related policies and procedures. The post holder coordinates and assigns queries across Information Governance, Information Rights and Information Security teams, ensuring timely, accurate handling of complex cases and escalating issues to senior management when required.
The post holder will provide an initial contact point for all queries received within the Information Governance service. Communicates effectively by competent use of email, telephone, written and face-to-face communication according to guidelines and customer care standards. Acts as a touchpoint for internal and external contacts.
They will advise and support including, information sharing, management of information requests, investigation processes, confidentiality agreements, training, information risk management, policies and procedures. The post holder is responsible for ensuring relevant queries and requests are assigned to staff within Information Governance, Information Rights and Information Security teams.
