Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Ground Worker to join our team, supporting a range of construction projects. The ideal candidate will possess practical skills in groundworks, with experience using various tools and machinery. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals interested in outdoor work and specialising in groundworks. The successful applicant will contribute to the upkeep and development of outdoor spaces, ensuring safety, quality, and efficiency on all projects.
Responsibilities
- Assist with all groundwork activitys
- Operate hand tools such as spades, rakes, and shovels
- Use power tools and machinery including excavators for site
- Support construction activities by assisting with groundwork preparations and material handling
- Perform routine maintenance on tools and machinery to ensure safe operation
- Maintain a clean and organised work environment to promote safety and efficiency on site
- Follow health & safety protocols at all times during operations
Skills
- Experience in drainage, concreting, block paving, flagging, curbing is highly desirable
- Mechanical knowledge related to operating machinery such as excavators and power tools
- Proficiency in using hand tools for various outdoor tasks
- Basic understanding of construction practices and site preparation techniques
- Ability to perform physical labour including lifting, digging, and manoeuvring equipment for extended periods
- Strong organisational skills with attention to detail in maintaining tools and work areas
- Good teamwork ethic with the ability to follow instructions accurately
